{Inspiration Board} Kelly Clarkson Inspired Wedding

**** UPDATE ****
YAY! So happy for Kelly! She ended up doing an intimate elopement and here is their wedding video. I totally called the bohemian style and wildflower style bouquet with a little bling bling somewhere, check out her gorgeous hair piece!
I'm very excited and pretty much spent my whole morning creating this inspiration board!! Kelly Clarkson got engaged to talent manager Brandon Blackstock in December and the couple is now planning their wedding, which Kelly said will be an "earthy" outdoor event in the fall. Sounds like a wedding I would love to help plan!! Call me Kelly, I LOVE YOU! She gave a few little details describing what she wants for her wedding including walking barefoot down the aisle, having no bridesmaids, and her dress will be rock and roll. Kelly Clarkson was the winner of the first season of American Idol in 2002, born in Texas and one of the best singer songwriter out there!
Here is my inspiration board, enjoy!
One of Kelly's charities she lists on her page that she supports is HOUSES OF HOPE which exists to build, staff, equip, and support orphan homes in order that they can become self-sustainable environments. Houses of Hope provides what we agree should be available to every child: a loving home, clothing, food and someone to care for them. Instead of giving away wedding favors you can give that money to your charity of choice and let your guests know with these fun ideas:
I'm pretty obsessed with Kelly's new songs!! Have a listen.

{inspiration board} No. 12 Flower Girls & Ring Bearers

Need I say that I am obviously obsessed with little girls in tutus!? If my husband and I have a girl, he's in trouble since I am such a girly girl and wished my parents dressed me up like this, but instead I looked more like a boy all the time (see photo at the bottom of this post). I remember when I was the flower girl for my aunt's wedding and boy oh boy I wore that purple dress until it was rags! So I really enjoyed when my clients had adorable little kids at their wedding. Some may disagree and do not want ANY kids at weddings and get very angry when kids are there, BUT if you do have kids at your wedding, here's some adorable inspiration!!
source: I know I should probably list all the links but really if you follow this pinterest board you will find all the links and I'll be adding more and more! http://pinterest.com/laylam/flower-girls-ring-bearers-doggies

Now for some fun!! First, I couldn't find found a picture of me when I was the flower girl for my aunt's wedding (since it's still in boxes from our move), and here is a photo of me at that age and an example of how my parents dressed me like a boy. This is one of our epic family photos since my shorts are so crooked. Secondly, here is a picture collage of the FUNNIEST ring bearer meltdown at my friend's wedding. Here I am helping the little kiddos get ready to walk down and he does not want to do it. Of course we practiced 2 times the day before and the two of them were fine, but then the day of with all the people there and his really uncomfortable dress shoes, he was in a mood. I have to say I have a lot of patients with kids and I like helping them down the aisle and this worked out perfect since this little guy knew me. Well the flower girl was great and doesn't she look like a little Belle!? They did manage to get down the aisle, but it was a hilarious scene!!

{inspiration board} No. 11 doggies

I'm way behind on my blogging, but I've been busy over on my new website A Military Story. Since we moved up to New York I have unpacked a lot, set up my office, and started substitute teaching. The substituting has been going really well, but now I have less time to blog. I've been meaning to put together this board on adorable dog ideas for your wedding, since two of these images were from clients I helped out with. If you have a well behaved dog and they are an important part of your family, why not include them!?

{Inspiration Board} John Legend Inspired Wedding

Well since we have a lot of snow today and I'm not going anywhere I've decided to do another wedding inspiration board for a celebrity couple John Legend and his model fiancee, Chrissy Teigen. My brother is a musician and he shared his favorite song by him "Stay With You" but you'll have to go all the way to the bottom of the post for that one since this "Good Morning" is one of my favorites! Hope you enjoy his wedding inspiration board!!
"John Legend and his Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen, are ready to tie the knot! According to RadarOnline.com, the couple, who have been engaged for 11 months, are making it official at the start of 2013. "John and Chrissy are getting married in January in North Carolina," a well-placed source reveals. They have been dating since 2007, got engaged on Dec. 27, 2011, while vacationing in the Maldives. As for what she'll wear on her special day, Teigen revealed one of her gowns is by designer Monique Lhuillier." hmmmmmmmmmm could it be the Biltmore??
Or maybe they are going for a more Rock N' Roll wedding at Fillmore Charlotte
I wonder what their color scheme will be? I personally love black & white especially since John Legend plays the piano so well and they should incorporate this into their wedding.
And now for "Stay With You" my brother's favorite John Legend song:
"Stay With You"
We've been together for a while now
We're growing stronger everyday now
It feels so good and there's no doubt
I will stay with you as each morning brings sunrise
And the flowers bloom in springtime
On my love you can rely
And I'll stay with you

Oh I'll stay with you through the ups and the downs

Oh I'll stay with you when no one else is around
And when the dark clouds arrive
I will stay by your side
I know we'll be alright
I will stay with you

Though relationships can get old

They have the tendency to grow cold
We have something like a miracle
Yeah, and I'll stay with you

Oh I'll stay with you through the ups and the downs

Oh I'll stay with you when no one else is around
And when the dark clouds arrive
I will stay by your side
I know we'll be alright
I will stay with you

And there will be heartaches and pains, yes it will

But through it all, we will remain
In this life, we all know
Friends may come, and they may go
Through the years I know
I will stay
And in the end I know that we'll find
Love so beautiful and divine
We'll be lovers for a lifetime, yeah
And I'll stay with you
I will stay with you

Oh I'll stay with you through the ups and the downs

Oh I'll stay with you when no one else is around
And when the dark clouds arrive
I will stay by your side
I know we'll be alright
I will stay with you
Everything will be fine
And I will stay with you
Through the end of time
I will stay with you

Valentine's Day Inspiration Board

Valentine's Day may be a made up holiday of which some find it a silly holiday to celebrate, but it was actually my 1st date with my husband! What are our plans for this special day you ask, um we have an appointment for our taxes, yep! LOL! When my husband said we are scheduled on Feb. 14th to file our taxes, I was like, "Um really!!? On Valentine's Day!?" and he said, oops, I didn't even think of that. BOYS UGH! Well hears hoping that we get a good return and maybe we can go out to eat after and celebrate.

I wonder if anyone has ever had a Valentine's Day wedding theme and was married on February 14th?? Next year it's on a Friday! If you were to have a house party, or maybe even a Valentine's Day wedding here are some fun ideas for you. Or if you want to surprise your boy friend/fiance/husband in bed with breakfast or make him a snack make your way down to the end for 2 food ideas. One year I made the cute toast with heart shape cut out fried egg seen below (all you need is a cookie cutter that is a heart, place the toast down on the frying pan and very carefully pour in the egg into the heart hole). Happy Valentine's Day <3

{inspiration board} No.10 covered bridges

This post was actually inspired by one of my new twitter followers! https://twitter.com/CoveredBridges1 When I went onto this blog I was fascinated by searching all over the US looking at old covered bridges. Since I grew up in New England I can remember seeing a few while driving around "leaf-hopping". Their history and architecture is beautiful. How cool would it be if you were able to have your wedding ceremony right under and in the bridge in the bottom left corner!!? Well all these wedding elements were brought together to illustrate a natural wedding- natural flowers, a bridal bouquet with no flowers, invitations with deer on them, TOMS shoes, bird seed favors to throw after the ceremony, and maybe you could have an outside picnic style reception. I came across this unique hand crafted picnic table that is at a winery and has wine containers built into the table!

{inspiration board} No. 8 S'mores

S'mores are a great party treat but also a great wedding idea for your guests! I love the idea of camping themed weddings and sitting by fires eating graham crackers with melted marshmallows and chocolate - YUM!

{inspiration board} No. 7 Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

I've been doing everything I can to be in the holiday spirit when I am not going to be with my hubby for Christmas again. In 2009 he was in Iraq and this year he is in New York. I am thankful that he got a new job and I'm thankful to have my mom and friends here in Savannah to keep my holiday cheer. Our house is completely packed up and ready to move for Dec. 30th so there are no decorations up. Although I did keep the Hanukkah menorah and candles out to light. My kitty loved watching the candles burn each night and one night she got too close and burnt her tail! It was pretty funny! So to keep my holiday cheer in check especially with all the current events, I have created a hybrid inspiration board for Christmas and New Years. Happy Holidays Y'all and see you in 2013!!
